this year, the date is Saturday, May 23 (I know, this is Memorial Day weekend...only time we could fit it in.)
There are four open spaces left.
At the Yard Sale, we invite anyone interested in selling their used stamps, stencils, inks, paint, papers, scrapbook supplies, etc (must be related to what we do here!) to join us for a shopping event, open to the public. It's a great way to do some recycling of your stuff, and for shoppers, there are always some great finds, either for yourself, or for your kids.
Set-up starts at 8 am, for the sellers, and shopping opens at 9 am....No early birds!!
AE will have some special sale items inside, and these tables will open at 8 am. We may even get this set up a day or two early. Watch the newsletter for further news.
Sellers will need to bring their own table and chairs, along with sunscreen, and money for change-making. Grocery store bags are always helpful...and shoppers, I encourage you to bring your own bag, too.
We do have a limit to the number of "vendors" that we can fit on the sidewalk in front of the store...so there will be a cut-off at some point. Registration is $20, for a six-foot space. Please register by calling the store, 978-887-6397. Early registration is suggested. No registration will be accepted by e mail or phone message.
Registrations are non-refundable.

***Friday, November 7-All day class with Joanne Sharpe
On Friday, November 7, Joanne is returning to hone our lettering skills. This is called the "Artful Lettering Book Tour" class. In this class you will create a journal just like the one shown in her book, and Joanne will cover about a dozen of her favorite techniques for the book.
This journal will serve as a great source of inspiration for you, and you can practice and add to the book...and even make new ones as it fills. If you already have a copy of her book, The Art of Whimsical Lettering, you will need to bring it to class, along with a composition book, a few glue sticks, and your "pen stash." Also, some smaller pieces of decorative paper, or scrapbook patterned paper will be a good addition to the book. There will be more details on what to bring in the next newsletter.
Class space is limited, and the class cost is $65, non-refundable.
Class will run on Friday, Nov. 7, from 10am-4pm, with a lunch break.
We are offering a second class, same version as Friday's, on Saturday, November 8. same time, same cost, same supplies needed.
Tick Tock--It's a Contest!!
Go to this website, and check out all the entries in the challenge shown on the blog, form August 30...scroll down, it's worth it...all the way to the bottom...there are probably 20 or more samples for inspiration...and then read the article below!!
We are having a "Holiday Clock" event...come in and purchase one of the 19 clocks Update-we have four left!! we have, Tim Holtz -Style. Create a holiday delight inside the clock, return the clock to us, for viewing, by the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and we will have some impartial judges (none of the staff!) The winner will receive one of the new blue Big Shot machines, plus a $50 gift certificate to the store (How great if you won this and made it a gift for someone!!)
Upon returning the clock, you will get the price of the clock restored to your account as a credit (That makes the clock FREE!!) Plus, the clock is yours to take home after December 15, to use in your home decor.
Right, that is not a Christmas clock...but its just an idea starter.
Please remember, we only have 19 of these "contest entries" available. We are happy to do phone orders with cc payments, shipping will be extra, but you must get the clock to us in a timely manner!! (see what I did there?)
